My First Design

Baby Blanket

Size 8 needles
Yarn used: Plymouth Encore Worsted Weight Yarn in 2 balls each in colors 1405, 436, 7119. (75% acrylic, 25% wool 100g=200yds)

Stitches used: Stockinette Stitch, Stacked Blocks, Double Moss Stitch, Goblets, Lizard Lattice, Moss Stitch Parallelograms, Pennants, Right & Left Diagonal Brocade, Garter Stitch, Seed Stitch.

11 squares, 10 squares are 50 stitches wide by 40 rows. 1 square is 50 stitches wide by 80 rows.

First Square is Stockinette Stitch Knit on Rs, purl on Ws. This square is 50 stitches wide and 80 rows long. I duplicate stitched the name on. (duplicate stitch is worked with a tapestry needle and same weight yarn. To work the duplicate stitch bring the threaded tapestry needle up from the back of the base of the V of the knit stitch to be covered. Insert the needle under both loops of the stitch in the row above it, and pull the needle through. Then you insert the needle through to the back of the work.)
Second through Tenth Square are 50 stitches wide and 40 rows. Each square has its own pattern.

Center Stockinette Stitch Square and sew one square on top and bottom and sew four squares on each side in any order. I crocheted the squares together. Then finish with crocheting the edging around. I used each color single crocheted around two rounds.
