Book Giveaway, Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor by Lisa Kleypas

**Giveaway Closed, winner is Pegi, I posted on your blog, please email me at stacey@staceysplace.com with your address**

New York Times bestselling author Lisa Kleypas's new series begins during the most magical time of year

ONE LITTLE GIRL NEEDS A FAMILY
One rain-slicked night, six-year-old Holly lost the only parent she knew, her beloved mother Victoria. And since that night, she has never again spoken a word.

ONE SINGLE MAN NEEDS A WIFE
The last thing Mark Nolan needs is a six-year-old girl in his life. But he soon realizes that he will do everything he can to make her life whole again. His sister's will gives him the instructions: There's no other choice but you. Just start by loving her. The rest will follow.

SOMETIMES, IT TAKES A LITTLE MAGIC... Maggie Collins doesn't dare believe in love again, after losing her husband of one year. But she does believe in the magic of imagination. As the owner of a toy shop, she lives what she loves. And when she meets Holly Nolan, she sees a little girl in desperate need of a little magic. ...

TO MAKE DREAMS COME TRUE
Three lonely people. Three lives at the crossroads. Three people who are about to discover that Christmas is the time of year when anything is possible, and when wishes have a way of finding the path home...

This is a pretty good book, and in the upcoming release of Rainshadow Road by Lisa Kleypas, I am offering a giveaway of the First book in the Nolan Family. I thought this book was really cute, and was a good read.

In February of 2012, Rainshadow Road is going to be released. It is the second book of the Nolan family, but considered the first book in the Friday Harbor trilogy. I received an ARC of Rainshadow Road for being a Lisa's Diva (some info on joining can be found here)

My thoughts on Rainshadow Road by Lisa Kleypas. I do not even know where to begin, this book was truly amazing, inspiring, magical. I love to read, and this is honestly the best book I have read in a long time. The connection between Lucy and Sam is definitely magical, true, and rings so close to my heart. Qualities I saw in this book between Lucy and Sam are some of the same things I feel and see between my husband and I. Lisa did an amazing job on this book, one for keeps, to have on your shelf forever and to be read time and again. A good book makes you feel and believe, and this book did both, made me feel and believe, and in something so beautiful, inspiring. Thank you Lisa for the amazing book, for your amazing talent! I am looking forward to the release of Crystal Cove, the next book in the series. A five star book all the way!

So, I am hosting a giveaway, I am offering on hardcover copy of Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor to one of my readers. Entering is simple, just answer this one question, have you ever read a book by Lisa Kleypas, and if so, which ones, and if not, you really ought to check her out! Her work is amazing! and you can get an extra entry for posting about this giveaway, and if you link back to let me know, I will throw in an extra entry. I will leave this open for two weeks, so the giveaway will end on Friday January 13, 2012. I will announce the winner on Saturday the 14th in the morning. Good Luck, and Have a Happy and Safe New Year!

Blogger's Quilt Festival

First off, I would like to welcome you to my blog, if this is your first time visiting, let me introduce myself briefly. I am Stacey, stay at home mom of 4 busy kids (aged 13, 9, 6, 3). Married to my best friend for 11 years now. I live in the Maine with my family, and love it here. I love to quilt, read, sew, knit, crochet, etc. I am trying to get my name more familiar in the quilting industry, and that is with lots of hard work, patience, and did I mention patience?? I love designing, and creating.

This quilt that I am going to share with you today has a very very special place in my heart, you can see it below, and why do you ask???

Because, you see......in the picture below what it says is on page 35??? oh, and btw, this is the Issue 14 of Irish Quilting Magazine.

Here she is in all her printed glory, omg! I wanted to fall on the floor when this arrived at my house, I mean, getting my quilt published in a magazine, ummm, me, Stacey, a nobody in Maine (or so it sometimes feel)......but now I am Stacey Carey, published designer in Maine, a little somebody :O}

Since getting this quilt published, I have had a few more triumphs in my endeavors. (becoming a Moda Bake Shop designer, being featured in Fat Quarterly's Fall Inspired Issue). Also, I have a second quilt being published in a magazine, and currently working on finishing another project for the MBS.

It is a lot of hard work, and sometimes I wonder, but I truly love what I do, and hopefully someday it will all come into place. I hope I did not bore you to death on your visit, and I hope you come back and visit again. It is always nice to meet and make new friends with similar interests. And where I live, there is no one my age with similar interests, or shall I say I have yet to find them :O} Leave me a comment (become a follower if you'd like), and I can check out your blogs also, it always nice to hear from new people. Thank you for stopping by, and letting me share one of my first major triumphs with you!

Ruth n' Ruby Dress by Kati Cupcake Pattern Co.

I recently had the honor of pattern testing the Ruth n' Ruby dress pattern for Amy Hamberlin of Kati Cupcake Pattern Co. It came out super cute, and my daughter loves it!! So much, in fact, that she is going to be wearing it this coming Saturday on her birthday as a special birthday dress. It was a nice pattern, and I am very glad that I made it.

On another note, I have some pretty exciting news to be able to share soon, one of them will be later this week, and the other will be pretty soon!!! I have been working hard on making some of my wildest dreams to come true, and it seems like some of that hard work is paying off. Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

I love this recipe, my family loves this recipe. I got it from my sister in law, and I wanted to share it with all of you. Enjoy!!!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

**use glass dish** Bake 4 bananas in skins until black. make sure you flip them, so both sides are black.
mash bananas (take them out of their skins while hot, it's easier)
1 stick butter
3/4 c brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla

mix together, have to cool completely.

once cooled add:
1 egg
2 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda

mix together.
fold in 3/4 c chocolate chips

Bake in a bread pan for 1 hour.

*when you take it out after the hour, the top when you stick a toothpick in will still be slightly mush. this is ok. just make sure it's not totally raw. if you cook it so the toothpick comes out bone dry, it will be wicked dry.*

Let me know if you have any questions, and I hope your family enjoys this recipe.
