It's Complete........

and I am in love, Sorry about the lighting in my sewing room. I just finished it, and I can say that I am awful at hand sewing so I did not handstitch my binding on, I sewed it, and I do love it anyways! I quilted my quilt by machine and as for the design, I just stitched the outline of my squares. I do not have a washing machine so I regretfully cannot wash it for a comfortable broken in feel (and I just did laundry the other night :O( But you bet your butt that I am going to use it tonight! I cannot wait to cuddle up and maybe knit with it. Seems my Central Park Hoodie has taken the back burner since I started quilting recently. I want to atleast finish my hoodie so I do not feel so guilty. Well, here are some pictures, and I am off to make dinner for the famdamily!!






oh, btw, I got in the mail yesterday my darning foot, and my 1/4" quilting foot that fits my machine. now I need to figure out how to use them!

My New Sewing Space plus some new stash additions!!!

So the above picture is of my latest addition to my stash. It is some Moda Cotton Blossoms, Wildflower Serenade, and Miss Jump's Scrapbag. I love!! Below are some pictures of my new sewing room with a cutting table that my husband built me out of African Mahogany and White Birch. I so adore him, and just love to be crafty in my new room.


Now when I am not busy chasing my four kids around the house (oh, wait, shall I say after bedtime) I enjoy listening to the radio and sewing. I am almost done my first quilt, and I am estatic!! I do feel ashamed that my lovely knitting has been extremely neglected :OD

Which will be my second quilt, I cannot wait! I love love love quilting though. My poor knitting has taken the back burner ;(

My NEW Craft Space

Well, yesterday was a busy day for me! I rearranged my childrens bedrooms and placed my daughter Camille in with my son Simon, moved Ephrem into my bedroom and moved Abigail into Camille's old room. The reason why? well two weeks ago we had the start of a chimney fire (we shut down the stove and it went out) but it started in what used to be Abby's room. We decided that if there were ever to be another (God hope there will not) we did not want her in the same room as the chimney. SO, in so created a mini craft/sewing room for me. Now this was my sewing nook in my bedroom. And here are some pictures of my new room. It is not complete as my wonderful husband is building me a drop down cutting table right next to my sewing cabinet! (so I can do it right~his words!) One of the many reasons why I love him so! So now today I can start my first quilt that I am doing a sew along with my good friend!

Two Bags, and a peek at what's to come!!

So yesterday I was asked by a good friend if I could make two bags using the sheep material I got from Japan, of course the answer was yes! and after working hard yesterday and staying up until 2am and waking up at 7:30 this morning, they are done, boxed and getting shipped out in a little while. I am going to make more and put them for sale in my Etsy shop, so keep your eyes open for their arrival!! Also, if you would like one custom made with fabric of your choice, let me know and we can make arrangements, Enjoy!!
P.S. The last picture is of my husband's wall mount we picked up on Friday, his first deer ever! Not bad!!

I have reached a decision!

So after spending a couple of days sewing on my mil machine, I decided to keep mine, I love mine, know how to use it, and it is easier for me! So the other one is boxed back up and put away for a special person for xmas

Looky Looky What the MIL Brought Me!!

A while ago my mother in law gave me her sewing machine cabinet, well, today she brought down the original Sewing machine that went in it for me. It is I believe a 1972 Singer Touch and Sew II deluxe zig zag machine model 775. with all the accessories. So my 10 year old is going to use my other machine.

Special Delivery!!!

Yay for me my fabric that I have been patiently waiting the arrival of has arrived from its long journey from Japan. Thanks Isabel!! I love all of it. I cannot wait to make things with it, check it out, I will have some bags and things being made, if they come out well, some will get listed in my Etsy shop, of course I want some of it also, the fabric is so beautiful!! Don't you all agree??? Love the sheep! And check out the rabbits!! The single pics of fabric are prequilted!!

My Reorganized Sewing Nook

So yesterday my husband let me add a new piece of furniture to my sewing nook. I had a lot of fun reorganizing when the baby allowed me too. I am expecting some fabric quilt squares this week and want it to be ready for when they arrive so I can jump in. I added a solid wood pine 7 drawer dresser. I absolutely love it! So, I cleaned out my sewing cabinet that was given to me by my mil, and put all my notions and things in the dresser. I then went through my sad little stash and put that into my cabinet and eliminated an old ugly plastic bin. I still have one there though for my scraps. So I am so excited I just wanted to share it with you all!! Oh, btw, I have a box of fabric coming in the next couple of weeks from my friend in Japan, I know what i will make with it now, a quilt. I cannot wait!! Here are two pics of the new area. Doesn't it look nice???

Below is my sewing machine, it is nice, I LOVE it!! Oh, you quilting ladies, I found a walking foot on Ebay for $13.00 that will fit this, so in a week or so, I will buy it!

Been Busy.....

So, in the knitting community everyone has heard of the Central Park Hoodie, well I have started to make one for myself and can I say that I am in LOVE!!!!! This sweater is beautiful, and I chose my fave yarn Naturally Naturelle its an Aran 10 ply. I hope that it does not take me too long to finish because I am dying to wear it!!

Wow, inspiring, maybe I could someday be that good.......

Creative Thinking

I have been doing some creative thinking, I have so many ideas, but I am not a designer, so therefore not sure how to make what I want. I can see it clear as day, but designing and making it will be tricky, hmmm...... Well, tomorrow is a new day, and hopefully I can work on my idea. I will keep you all updated on whether or not it is even doable, wish me luck!! (today's a better day, more positive thoughts running through my head.)

Friends......

Sorry it's taken me a couple of days, I got a couple of pictures, not all yet, I need to take more but the other day I received a package from Isabel and here are a couple of pics of her yarn destash that she so kindly sent my way all the way from Japan!! I will take care of it, now to find the perfect patterns for it. If anyone has an idea for my first lace project, could you please let me know??? I have not done lace yet, but want to and the mohair she send should let me do something. Any easy lace projects for beginners?? Have a great day, I will post more pics when I can. Thank You Isabel!!
